List of Metals E72F8um

Please refer to Lore Suggestions to apply for new metals to be added. All we ask is that you please use the template of the metals below.

Gold | Gold is a bright, slightly orange-yellow, dense, soft, malleable, and ductile metal in a pure form. It is one of the least reactive chemical elements and is solid under standard conditions. It is EXTREMELY conductive when it comes to mana, making it ideal for enhanced jewelry. This is especially pervasive due to the view of gold as beautiful, valuable and a symbol of status or wealth. It is nigh useless for the purposes of a weapon, tool or armor however as it's among the softest of metals. Items composed of gold can host an additional enchantment above the standard limit. Gold is so rare, only being found in abundance in Serenum and Madera, it is one of the most valuable metals. It is for that reason all nations in Sosaria deal in gold coins and bricks.
Hardness | Level 1
Locations | Serenum and Madera
Rarity | Very High

Silver | Silver is a relatively soft (albeit no where near as soft as gold), but shiny metal. Even though it is used often in all manner of jewelry and decorative goods, it also has an invaluable use against any being or force which originates from Yami. This means most monsters and the undead take extra damage from weapons forged from it (a boost equal to one level) but it also means armor and shields constructed of silver reduces the power of all attacks of the Darkness Element, as well as the physical attacks of Yami-based beings, by one level. Silver is primarily found on the Anemosian and Lunarian continents, though small amounts can likely be discovered elsewhere. The Anemos Confederacy is the leading exporter of silver.

Copper | Copper is found in the free metallic state in nature all across Sosaria. It is a soft, malleable, and ductile metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity. A freshly exposed surface of pure copper has a pinkish-orange color. It is frequently incorporated into the items of users of the Lightning or Fire element, or in various other types of items associated with lightning or electricity, due to this. Weapons composed of copper increase the speed of Lightning element moves and the power of Fire element moves by one level. Armor and shields composed of copper takes damage reduced by one level from any attacks based on the Lightning or Fire elements. Copper is one of the most abundant metals in Sosaria, able to be found in massive amounts on essentially any continent.
Hardness | Level 3
Locations | Everywhere
Rarity | Very Low
Mining Level | Adept

Iron | Iron is a shiny, greyish metal which rusts easily in damp air. Iron is the only metal as abundant as copper and is most often used for the cheapest of weapons and armor due to its low durability, how quickly it rusts and its lack of special attributes. It does serve one important purpose, however, and that is in the manufacturing of steel. Iron is harvested in massive quantities all throughout Sosaria for the sole purpose of producing the much stronger and more resilient metal, steel. Iron can be found on virtually any continent in fairly massive reserves.

Bronze | Bronze is a unique metal alloy that primarily contains copper. It is roughly equal to copper in terms of durability but is far more ductile and thermally conductive. Due to this, it is often used in the production of shields and armor. Shields or armor composed of bronze will take one level less damage from all attacks and two levels less damage from all fire or heat based attacks. When used in a weapon, it is able to amplify the power of fire-based attacks. Any attack of the Fire element used in conjunction with a bronze weapon will receive a power boost equal to one level.

Steel | Steel is an alloy made up of iron with typically a few tenths of a percent of carbon to improve its strength and fracture resistance compared to other forms of iron. Many other elements may be present or added. Steel, thanks to its high durability and the abundance of iron to manufacture it, is the favorite metal of militaries across Sosaria to be used in the production of weapons and armor for their troops. There is a limit to how much can be produced, however, therefore it is usually reserved for only the more elite soldiers and any high level adventurers who can afford it. When used for weapons, all damage it inflicts will be increased by one level. When used for armor or shields, all damage taken will be reduced by one level.

Flarite | Flarite is a bright and brilliant metal of a crimson shade. It is naturally imbued with immense magical power of the fire affinity. Although it is extremely difficult to go ahead of, as one would have to defeat one many dragons who hoard it. This material may be used for all manner of purposes, including the magical arts, imbuing items and weapons with magical properties or even to amplify the magical power of one's fire-based attacks. It is most commonly found in its raw form among the nests of fire dragons; this makes it highly difficult to acquire. The nations which possesses the most are Serenian continent. When this metal is used for weapons, it will automatically burn any wound closed. When used for armor, anything that isn't an Advanced or higher material will be melted. Anything flammable will instantly be reduced to ashes.

Aeron | Aeron is an extremely light and flexible metal, ideal for offering decent protection but allow quick and agile moves. Another feature of this metal is that it exudes pure wind energy, vast amounts are even stored inside. It can be quite effective in amplifying one's magical spells or abilities of the wind nature. When used for weapons, their weight is reduced by 50% and blades of any nature can deal damage  one level above normal. When used for armor, the wearer is granted a one level boost to their speed. This material is primarily found in the Anemos Kingdom and is commonly used to construct the weapons and armor of their soldiers.

Mizuno | Mizuno is an EXTREMELY durable metal that only some of the mightiest warriors could ever hope to obtain. Unlike most ores, Mizuno ores are living thimgs. One must mine them delicately or else the watery tendrils will attach to the aggressor's body and sap his mana dry. It extends several, if not tens of, tentacles simply to feel around in search of a water source. Should Mizuno make contact with a water source, it will transform into a Mizunite (a powerful moster). If used to construct a weapon, it will have the abilities to transform between Mizuno and water at will; it is even capable of absorbing water to increase its power. If used as armor, the wearer could be able to breathe underwater, swim at much higher speeds. Moreover, all damage of water-based attacks are reduced by one level. even draw out large quantities of water to adapt to different positions and concentrations and protect against an incoming attack. Mizuno metals are, after all, riddled with minor water spirits. There are currently no known way of separating them from the metal either as they can not be killed unless their host object is decimated entirely.

Fulgurn | Fulgurn is primarily found on the Maderan continent and possesses vast quantities of magical electricity. This electricity was quickly used by the Maderans to light their cities and for various other purposes. Many adventurers, for example, used them to amplify their lightning-based attacks to whole new levels. When Fulgurn is used for a weapon, the speed of one's attacks using that weapon is increased by one level. When used in arnor, the wearer is able to move at speeds on level higher than their usual capacity. Regardless of what the application is, this metal is all about speed and possesses staggering amounts of electrical energy. Although some craftsmen have made excellent equipment out of the material, a large majority end up dead from accidentally unleashing the energy all at once. This is why experimentation on Fulgurn technology is restricted to outside of city limits in most of the world.

Archeite | Archeite, is an EXTREMELY durable and valuable resource named after the God of Sun himself. Several different colors flow all along the ore and the entire thing emanates a soft golden light. The first discovery was in Serenum by King Solaris himself, who had traveled to the center of the continent in search of gold. He had yet to realize just what he had discovered. No other material known to the kingdom could so much as scratch it. It could not be sharpened nor molded. At least, not until the Serenian Kingdom brought in a group from the Dwarven Order. They affirmed that they could make use of it, but that the price would be high. Thus the production of Archeite goods began. Weapons comprised of it were virtually indestructible but had a dull bladed, incapable of piercing even most armors, thus was primarily used in blunt-force weaponry. Archeite armor, however, was nothing short of a success store. So long as one remained in it, they were nearly indestructible but the weight of it all left the wearer essentially crippled and incapable of combat.

Monium | Monium, named in honor of the Mondelves who discovered it, is a powerful ore brewing the divine energy of darkness. The purple mana which flows forth from the ore will take over and corrupt any soul who stays near it for too long. It is for this reason that it has been banned from every nation except Lunari and Shimaguni. When used as an artifact, this material can corrupt the user but increase their speed and strength by one level each. This lasts for eight posts but the user will inevitably die at the end. When used as a weapon, all damage dealt by it is increased by 100% during the night time. When used for the purposes of armor, however, it is able to absorb the mana of darkness or light element spells, giving the mana stolen to the wearer.

Vibras | Vibras is an extremely soft and malleable metal that is often used for communications over long distance due to their receptiveness to sound magic. Things such as walkie-talkies, speaker systems or even combat gear all rely on Vibras. This material is especially popular with shields as it vastly minimizes the kickback of the defender, bends to avoid break, then snaps back into place sending the physicalattack hurtling right back at the attacker. Armor is also no exception. Any attack or weapon of equal or lower class will bounce off of Vibras armor with the wearer barely feeling a thing. Its greatest weakness, however, is high frequency sound. If someone to overwhelm them with certain frequencies, the armor could become a torture prison, brittle enough to shatter or worse as the metal is EXTREMELY sensitive to sound waves.

Glacion | Glacion was discovered in, and is mainly native to, the Lunarian continent. It is an extremely valuable resource, as despite being metal ore it is as cold as the coldest of ice. Even more, it remains just as cold regardless of climate. This makes it ideal for keeping food fresh, keeping building cool and more. On the other hand, however, is can be fairly dangerous in the wrong hands. When used as a catalyst or artifact, it can boost the power of ice-based attacks and defenses by one level. When used for weapons, the cost of ice-based attacks using said weapon are reduced by 50%. When used for armor, the wearer becomes immune to all temperatures, regardless of how intense they may be. Whether it be the hottest of flames or the coldest of voids, the armor will keep whoever is within it at their normal body temperature regardless of circumstances.
Hardness | Level 4
Locations | Lunari

Agapite | Agapite is an extremely common ore and is often used for weapons and armor simply because it's so cheap but also effective. It's more durable than even steel and costs significantly less. The only problem is that it's impossible to shape it into a blade, therefore it is limited to use as blunt weapons or armor. Another benefit of this metal is that it is extremely light in weight. This lightness allows weapons composed of Agapite to move at speeds one level higher than they otherwise could. Full agapite armor grants the user an overall boost to their speed stat equal to one level.

Verite | Verite is a magical ore that is imbued with horrifying amounts of mana. When exposed to the air, one can even seen bright purple arcs of mana shooting all around the exposed face. Most beings experience extreme nausea, dizziness and sometimes even pass out when exposed to the initial wave of mana. The mana within this ore can be tapped into in any number of ways. For example, weapons and armor comprised of Verite are capable of absorbing any mana they come into contact with and even transfer that mana to the user. Despite this, Verite is most often used for magical artifacts, mediums and catalysts. Its usefulness as a near limitless battery for magic has countless uses.

Valorite | Valorite is the rarest and, arguably, the most powerful metal in all of Sosaria. It was created by Malleator, God of the Forge, due to his love of blacksmithing. That is why every vein of Valorite is magically protected. It can not be mined, damaged or altered in any way. The only way to salvage it is for someone of the Malleator faith to place their hand on the exposed ore. At that moment, all surrounding materials will disintegrate, while simultaneously morphing the ore, until all that sits before the person is the finest of Valorite ingots. Valorite is so durable that no other material in Sosaria, sans Valorite weapons, are able to even damage it. More interestingly is how bladed Valorite weapons are widely considered the sharpest blades in existence. All attacks against Valorite armor are reduced by one level in power and all attacks from a Valorite bladed weapon are increased in power by one level.
