Appearance :: The Oak Wood Sword is a pretty standard weapon as far as sparring is concerned. While it lacks the ability to cut, slice or dice, it allows two sparring partners to strike one another without dealing grievous injury or worse. For that reason, the blade portion of the sword is unsharpened and dull, meaning the most it can be used for is to whack your opponent.

Description :: Oak Wood Swords are the cheapest wooden swords that can be made with the resources available to the Serenian Kingdom. They're typically produced in massive quantities so that soldiers and adventurers alike have enough to practice combat against one another.
Background :: Being produced purely for sparring purposes, the oak wooden sword is almost entirely useless in combat. Disregarding the fact that any metal blade would cut cleanly through it, it would deal no more than 2 HP in damage per hit even if it were intentionally used to harm another. The tip of the sword is even rounded to prevent accidental stabbings.
