| Name :: Monk Skillset :: Unarmed, Elemancy, Divination Main Stats :: Strength, Agility, Perception Description :: Her fists a blur as they deflect an incoming hail of arrows, a half-elf springs over a barricade and throws herself into the massed ranks of hobgoblins on the other side. She whirls among them, knocking their blows aside and sending them reeling, until at last she stands alone. Taking a deep breath, a human covered in tattoos settles into a battle stance. As the first charging orcs reach him, he exhales and a blast of fire roars from his mouth, engulfing his foes. Moving with the silence of the night, a black-clad halfling steps into a shadow beneath an arch and emerges from another inky shadow on a balcony a stone’s throw away. She slides her blade free of its cloth-wrapped scabbard and peers through the open window at the tyrant prince, so vulnerable in the grip of sleep. Whatever their discipline, monks are united in their ability to magically harness the anima that flows in their bodies. Whether channeled as a striking display of combat prowess or a subtler focus of defensive ability and speed, this anima infuses all that a monk does. The first monks date back to the origins of Sosaria. Long before weapons had reached the lethality of current times, many chose the path of barehanded combat. With neither weapon nor shield, the origins of the Monk class are shrouded with grueling training of both the mind and body. The one who started the lineage of Monks as we know it would be an ancient Valen by the name of Isaac Ironborn. It is said that his deep connection with the Goddess Terra and relentless honing of his physical prowess wasn't enough, thus he created the skill of Martial Arts and used it to amplify his power. Legends assert that no weapon forged could pierce his muscles. - Available Abilities:
Iron Body There are so many different types of weapons and techniques, but you've always opted for taking on your opponent unarmed. This style of combat, while rare, is no less powerful. You've made it a point to prove this, neglecting the study of weapons in favor of honing your physical body. Effect | The Power of all Unarmed Moves is increased by one level, irrelevant of caps.
Step of the Wind You've trained your body far beyond normal limitations, all in the name of achieving a level of speed unmatched. While there may be others who could keep up with you, it is certain that you were born for this. Not only are you quick and agile on your feet, but you're able to move every part of your body with the same level of aptitude. Your Agility stat receives a passive increase of one level, ignoring any all caps or limits. Effect | Your Agility stat is passively increased by one level regardless of caps or limits.
Genetic Purity Primarily thanks to the genetic lottery, but also in small part to high degrees of poison and disease exposure, you've reached a point where all forms of poison and diseases alike are rendered entirely ineffective. Regardless of their potency or effects, they are nullified (without exception) by this ability. Genetic Purity is a passive ability which does not need to be activated. Effect | You're immune to all poisons and diseases.
Timeless Body You've bathed in the fountain youth, effectually warding off the aging process entirely. Not only will you remain at your peak age for the entirety of your life, you will also never succumb to death by old age either. All other factors aside, this perk makes one effectively "immortal". This perk even holds up against time-based magic, rendering it useless for the purposes of altering their age. Effect | Stop aging at your peak age. Can not die of old age.
Empty Body You've become so attuned to your body over the years that you're able to effectually render it ethereal, rendering all physical attacks useless for its duration (the duration being three posts). It's important to note, however, that any attacks which target your soul will still connect and deal damage. This ability may only be invoked a maximum of once per topic. Effect | You're able to completely and absolutely conceal your presence.
Third Eye Upon unlocking your third eye, you're able to not only sense but also see the forces of not only anima but mana as well. All living things and the techniques thereof can be perceived with precision by the user within a ten mile radius. The user can sense how much anima or mana an entity possesses, as well as use their perception of those energies to see through obstructions. Effect | You're able to unlock your third eye and precisely sense all anima and mana within range.
Blind Monk Either born blind or rendered so by circumstance, you can no longer rely on your eyes. In order to survive in this harsh world, you've honed your other senses to the point that they're even more reliable than one's sight would be. With your ears, nose and even skin, you're able to perceive all beings and forces; both the seen and unseen. Even if one were completely invisible, you could detect their exact position and other information using scent, disruptions in the air and even sound waves. Effect | Your Perception stat receives a passive boost of one level, irrelevant of any caps.
