Veloxian Discipline NsfpA29

The Veloxian Fighting Style is focused primarily on swift blows with the fists, elbows, knees and feet. Practitioners of this martial art are known for their overall physical fitness, choosing to enhance the strength of every part of their body in hopes of sculpting the ultimate weapon. Traditionally, Veloxian users make it a point to respect their opponent. They generally won't grapple, wrestle or use underhanded techniques against their opponent. Furthermore, they avoid killing their foe if at all possible. This is primarily because they enjoy the thrill of the fight and wish for their opponents to come back even stronger than before.

Name :: Straight Jab
Type :: Unarmed
Discipline :: Veloxian Discipline
Level :: Beginner
Speed :: Beginner
Power :: Beginner
Range :: Contact
Duration :: None
Cooldown :: None
Description :: The Straight Jab is one of the most simplest moves in this fighting style and can be done with either the left or the right hand. The user will strike their target directly, on any part of the body, with the full power of their arm and shoulder. Being a beginner move, it deals relatively little damage but because it has no cooldown, it can be used in rapid succession. Straight jabs can be difficult to avoid, as those who perform this move give off little indication that they're about to strike. It's perfect for taking an opponent by surprise, dealing double the damage in such case.
Cost :: 5 SP

Name :: Elbow Strike
Type :: Unarmed
Discipline :: Veloxian Discipline
Level :: Beginner
Speed :: Beginner
Power :: Beginner
Range :: Contact
Duration :: None
Cooldown :: None
Description :: An elbow strike (commonly referred to as simply an "elbow") is a strike with the point of the elbow, the part of the forearm nearest to the elbow, or the part of the upper arm nearest to the elbow. Elbows can be thrown sideways similarly to a hook, upwards similarly to an uppercut, downwards with the point of the elbow, diagonally or in direct movement and in several other ways. Elbow Strikes are among the simplest and most commonly used moves in the Veloxian fighting style, aside from the Straight Jab and Front Kick. Practitioners of this move typically wear special types of armor to protect their elbows as well as deal additional damage when using them as weapons.
Cost :: 5 SP

Name :: Front Kick
Type :: Unarmed
Discipline :: Veloxian Discipline
Level :: Beginner
Speed :: Beginner
Power :: Beginner
Range :: Contact
Duration :: None
Cooldown :: None
Description :: The front kick in martial arts is a kick executed by lifting the knee straight forward, while keeping the foot and shin either hanging freely or pulled to the hip, and then straightening the leg in front of the practitioner and striking the target area. It is desirable to retract the leg immediately after delivering the kick, to avoid the opponent trying to grapple the leg and (unless a combination is in process) to return to stable fighting stance.
Cost :: 5 SP

Name :: Low Kick
Type :: Unarmed
Discipline :: Veloxian Discipline
Level :: Novice
Speed :: Adept
Power :: Beginner
Range :: Contact
Duration :: None
Cooldown :: None
Description :: The low kick is a simple move but has a practical purpose. Not only does it deal 5 HP in damage to the enemy, their AGI stat will also drop by one level for one post allowing for a quick followup attack. Despite being a novice move, the low key is just as fast as an adept move, making it difficult to react to in time at close range.
Cost :: 10 SP

Name :: High Kick
Type :: Unarmed
Discipline :: Veloxian Discipline
Level :: Novice
Speed :: Adept
Power :: Beginner
Range :: Contact
Duration :: None
Cooldown :: None
Description :: Yet another novice level move with the speed of an adept technique. This move is different, however, as opposed to targeting the opponent's legs, it targets their head. Should you land the hit on their head, their INT stat will temporarily decrease by one level for a single post. If the kick lands anywhere else, it will deal 5 HP in damage.
Cost :: 10 SP

Name :: Hammer Fist
Type :: Unarmed
Discipline :: Veloxian Discipline
Level :: Adept
Speed :: Novice
Power :: Expert
Range :: Contact
Duration :: None
Cooldown :: None
Description :: The hammerfist is a strike with the bottom of a clenched fist, using an action like the swinging of a hammer, but can also be used horizontally like a backfist strike using the bottom fist. This strike will not damage the bones of the hands as there is no compression of the knuckles or metacarpals, and there is no leverage to bend the wrist. The hammerfist strikes cricket ball sized areas on the body, hence is particularly effective for a ground and pound without hurting your hands. Although the Hammer Fist is a somewhat slow strike, it compensates for that by packing a powerful punch.
Cost :: 20 SP

Name :: Sliding Step
Type :: Unarmed
Discipline :: Veloxian Discipline
Level :: Adept
Speed :: Expert
Power :: Novice
Range :: Self
Duration :: 8 Posts
Cooldown :: 2 Posts
Description :: The Sliding Step form is the preferred form of those who practice the Veloxian fighting style. It keeps their body in perfect balance and allows them to immediately slide from side to side or back and forth in order to dodge an attack or put distance between themselves and their opponent. While using this form, the user takes on either the speed of the technique or their AGI stat, depending on which is higher.
Cost :: 20 SP

Name :: Ridge Hand Strike
Type :: Unarmed
Discipline :: Veloxian Discipline
Level :: Expert
Speed :: Master
Power :: Adept
Range :: Contact
Duration :: None
Cooldown :: None
Description :: By tucking the thumb into the palm, a striking surface called the ridge-hand, or reverse knife-hand is formed, extending a few inches along the inside of the hand below the first knuckle of the first finger. Ridge-hand strikes commonly are delivered with a hooking motion, or with a straight arm swinging sideways. Suitable targets include the mastoid muscles of the neck, the jugular, throat, nose, jaw, the eyes, and the groin. The ridge hand is generally considered obsolete in the martial arts and highly circumstantial. In order to perform this move effectively, it takes intense training and conditioing. For example, the buckling that can occur on an unconditioned and sometimes even highly-conditioned fighter when using the technique and slightly missing the main targets (eyes, neck, or nose) can do more damage to the striker, even when he hits decent targets instead, like the jaw or forehead. As such, it is considered a high-level and highly-circumstantial technique. While it's a very fast strike, it can be dangerous should you miss one of the aforementioned targets. If you hit your target, you'll deal double the damage. If you miss, however, you'll deal 25 HP in damage to both your opponent as well as yourself.
Cost :: 20 SP

Name :: Spear Hand Strike
Type :: Unarmed
Discipline :: Veloxian Discipline
Level :: Expert
Speed :: Master
Power :: Adept
Range :: Contact
Duration :: None
Cooldown :: None
Description :: Delivered just as with a punch except that the hand is held open like with a knife hand. The intended striking area are the tips of the fingers. The ideal targets are the eyes and throat. This technique is generally unsuitable against most other targets due to the high probability that one might break their fingers. It does have the added advantage of increasing the range of normal hand striking by 3–4 inches or so as opposed to punching, backfisting, or hammer fisting. It is considered a high-level technique requiring enormous conditioning. Similar to the Ridge Hand Strike, failing to hit the more vulnerable parts of your opponent's body will result in you both taking equal damage from the technique. However, should you manage to strike their eyes, you will render them blind for the remainder of the topic.
Cost :: 20 SP

Name :: Mana Sealing Strike
Type :: Unarmed
Discipline :: Veloxian Discipline
Level :: Master
Speed :: Legendary
Power :: Expert
Range :: Contact
Duration :: None
Cooldown :: None
Description :: Using this technique, the martial artist will form what appears to be a perfectly normal fist. However, they will extend their index or middle knuckle to allow for a more precise strike. For those who can't see or sense mana, this technique will only deal 25 HP in damage for each hit you land. Alternatively, those who can sense mana are able to attack their opponent's mana system strike by strike. Each time they land a successful hit with this move, their opponent's mana will be reduced by 50 MP.
Cost :: 40 SP

Name :: Anima Strike
Type :: Unarmed
Discipline :: Veloxian Discipline
Level :: Master
Speed :: Expert
Power :: Legendary
Range :: 10 Meters
Duration :: 8 Posts
Cooldown :: Once per Topic
Description :: While a bit on the slow side, this technique allows the user to infuse anima into either their hands or feet before launching a simple strike at their opponent. Enhanced by anima, these strikes are more much more dangerous than other martial arts moves and can even be lethal against the right opponent. Furthermore, the anima will remain even after the first strike, maintaining their form for the duration of the move. Unlike other Veloxian moves, Anima Strikes are able to attack at a range. By simply punching in the desired direction and releasing the anima, the user will launch a sphere of anima with a diameter of one foot. Once launched, however, they do not come back. Meaning that the user is limited to two launches, one from each fist, before they can no longer use the technique.
