Gem Guide:

Amber | Amber is an organic gem, being the result of resin from ancient trees hardening over time to the point that it forms Amber. It is fairly abundant, especially in densely forested regions and particularly in colder regions. While plentiful, it holds extremely little magical power and equally unimpressive hardness. This keeps it sidelined as a gem that's primarily used for low level magic jewelry or other decorative purposes.

Rose Quartz | Rose quartz is one of the many quartz varieties used as a gem material. It gets its name from its delicate pink color, which ranges from very light (almost white) to medium-dark. Rose Quartz is a very common gem with decent hardness and magical potential. It is typically reserved for the jewelry of noble families but can be used for a variety of purposes. Possessing the natures of Wind and Nature, it is popular with mid-level mages.

Onyx | Onyx primarily refers to the parallel banded variety of chalcedony, a silicate mineral. Agate and onyx are both varieties of layered chalcedony that differ only in the form of the bands: agate has curved bands and onyx has parallel bands. The colors of its bands range from black to almost every color. Commonly, specimens of onyx contain bands of black and/or white.

Sapphire | Sapphire is a precious gemstone, a variety of the mineral corundum, consisting of aluminium oxide with trace amounts of elements such as iron, titanium, chromium, vanadium, or magnesium. The name sapphire is derived from the Serenian "saphirus" and the Anemosian "sapheiros", both of which mean blue. This gem is one of the most durable gems in the world, also possessing a high level of magic potential.

Mistakenly attributing it to the material itself, the name endured centuries.

Pearl | A pearl is produced within the soft tissue of a living shelled mollusk or other creature capable of producing them. Just like the shell of a mollusk, a pearl is composed of calcium carbonate in minute crystalline form, which has deposited in concentric layers. The finest quality of natural pearls have been highly valued as gemstones and objects of beauty for many centuries and are popular among royalty.
