Since all students come and go via boat, the college of Winter's Keep has constructed a large and sprawling dock that leaves more than enough room for each boat and student. However, it grows larger each year with an ever increasing number of aspiring mages who've heard rumors of the greatest school of magic in the land.

The Northern Hall, also known as the Hall of Light, is where one may find classes for the Alteration, Conjuration and Restoration schools of magic. Additionally, the dean's office is also located at the end of this hallway, despite seldom making an appearance before any of the students. Predominately composed of marble, what little sunlight in the region glimmers across all surfaces.

The Southern Passage, also known as the Passage of Secrets, is where one may find classes for the Illusion, Destruction and Evocation schools of magic. It's a mysterious set of hallways that can often seem like a never-ending maze the first time one passes through. There are a wide array of hidden passages and secret switches hidden all throughout the area, yielding the prospect of treasure for those daring enough to pursue it.

The Storeroom may be found in the midst of the Northern and Southern Halls, and it is where students and teachers alike may purchase a myriad of items they may require for their studies or other purposes. Anything from weapons and potions to reagents may be found here. A dark shadowy figure tends to the store, charged with sales, storage of student's goods that they may not have room for in their dorm and security.

The Training Yard is a large area contained within Winter's Keep. Although outside, it is protected by the same magical barrier used throughout the rest of the school. Although school staff regularly frequent the area in order to help students hone their abilities, the area also consists of many target boards and enchanted strawmen to practice on.

The Greenhouse sits outside of the school itself, containing all manner of magical plants that yield a great number of reagents for the storeroom. While the teachers may, on occasion, take some for themselves for the purposes of teaching high level spells, students are generally restricted from taking any. Due to the inherent power of some reagents found in the greenhouse, shadow figures stand guard over them at all times.

The King's Tomb is an ancient burial ground found beneath the school of Winter's Keep. The only entrance is a hidden staircase that can be found in the Southern Halls, activated by pulling a nearby torch down. Once revealed, it leads down into the spiraling chasm that is the King's Tomb. Be cautious, though, as the tomb is filled with countless undead among other threats.

The enchanted castle is where strictly school staff, such as the dean or professors, reside and handle their daily duties when not at the school. The only time that any student is permitted to so much as set foot in the enchanted castle is if they manage to be named valedictorian. At which point, they'll receive a full tour of the castle and the opportunity to help teach the next generation.

Although there's not much to be found here, aside from pesky little monsters (who pose little danger), many students from Winter's Keep come out the area in order to test their most powerful spells without destroying anything. While the area is mostly considered safe, no one's quite sure what may dwell in the caves.

Nix Woods is an area of the island college in which numerous trees grow in all directions. Despite the tundra-like climate, these unique trees thrive in the cold with little sunlight. The woods are dense and can be difficult to get through without a blade, but the trees found herein can be used to make Frostwood.
